Interior of the old CofG depot
O.K., this is a first but this is a picture of me while serving as the relief agent at Madison GA for the vacationing regular agent, Bobby McBride. I included two shots to show that the interior of the depot at this time was little changed from years earlier. I am in the process of restoring the train order board to display stop since the local to Macon has just left. Note the dispatchers line, mounted on the desk, which used the phone that pulled from the wall. Also the old manual typewriter, rubber stamps, and neatly arranged files. I was 20 years old at the time and I am glad I came along just in time to experience this as in the few short years a lot of this changed.

Justin Dzan General Bryan did you ever work in Milledgeville or Eatonton ? 8/3/2016 10:11:48 AM
Bryan Smith General I never did. That was on the Savannah district when I was there. I covered the Southwest district which was primarily Griffin to Albany via Macon, Ft. Valley, Americus, and Dothan and Eufaula branches along with the Athens side. I would have liked to just to see what was going on in those places but the Southwest side kept me busy enough. 8/4/2016 6:33:26 AM
