Oly meets new in the depot |
Description: |
This photo shows the contrast in old meeting new in the!old CofG depot in Madison. By this time Southern had taken over but many features of the CofG days were still evident. The computer I am using represents the newer technology being used while just to my right hangs the dispatchers line which still used a phone that probably dates back to the Second World War. Train order pads and rotary dial phones complete the scene. As a personal aside, the watch I am wearing in this photo is the watch I still wear today. I bought it in 1981 and it is still keeping perfect time. |
