Hilton and Albany RR
Title:  Hilton and Albany RR
Description:  My first photo of GWI's new Hilton and Albany RR subsidiary that operates former CofG/Southern/NS trackage between it's namesake towns. GWI now controls the entire line from Albany GA to Panama City FL via Dothan AL. The units seen here formerly operated on the Georgia Southwestern which GWI also operates and whose tracks this train will cross over in about 10 miles at Arlington GA.

Big time railroading
Title:  Big time railroading
Description:  A Hilton and Albany RR crew are arriving Hilton on NS units with a 57 car coal train for the CIRR. The NS units will cut off and pull down the pass and tie up behind the HAL's regular power of 2 SD40-2's seen in foreground. The CIRR has just delivered a cut of cars into a yard track and as soon as the NS units cut off, the CIRR units will couple on and take the coal train the final miles to it's ultimate destination at the GA Pacific paper mill in Cedar Springs GA.

Hilton and Albany regular power and NS coal train power
Title:  Hilton and Albany regular power and NS coal train power
Description:  The HAL's regular power sits in the passing track as power from a coal train sits tied down behind it. The Hilton and Albany RR crew brought down a coal train for the CIRR then returned to Albany via pick up truck to get another coal train....this one destined for the paper mill at Panama City FL. They made it back about nightfall and tied down for the night. The next day a crew got the Panama City coal train and used the NS power all the way to Panama City.

Hilton and Albany RR
Title:  Hilton and Albany RR
Description:  The Hilton and Albany RR displays some color with a trio!of SD40-2's in various schemes. A corporate orange/black leads as a unit in a GM scheme that formerly operated on fellow GWI road the Georgia Southwestern and a former BN unit now stenciled HLCX brings up the rear. The HLCX will probably soon get a coat of orange/black at the nearby CIRR shops in Cedar Springs GA.

A pair of SD40-2's enroute to Bayline
Title:  A pair of SD40-2's enroute to Bayline
Description:  SD40-2's return to the Bayline. Many years ago the Bayline had an SD40 on the roster. It left during one of the numerous ownership shanges for the Bayline. Since then the Bayline has been basically all GP38 with a few exceptions. GWI, the Bayline's owner, recently bought the nearby Georgia Southwestern. The 2 SD40-2's seen here are from the GSWR. The Bayline sent a pair of GP38's to the GSWR in exchange for the SD's seen here. The SD's are seen here on the Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad, another GWI road. The SD's moved via Bainbridge GA to Saffold over CSX, then over the CIRR to Hilton where they will travel to Dothan AL and the Bayline via the Chattahoochee Bay, still another GWI road.
